In 2022 Dutch VAT returns need to submit via a new Portal. These changes only impact those businesses registered in the Dutch Chamber of Commerce. So foreign VAT registered companies without a permanent establishment are not yet impact. This online portal (Belastingdienst Zakelijk) for amongst others, is for the filling of Dutch VAT returns. The authorities indicate that the new portal would extend to all VAT registrations. Although we do not have a date for such extension yet.

The Dutch tax authorities urge taxpayers to adapt to this change. As the old entrepreneur portal will no longer be applicable to the reporting period of 2022 whether it is monthly, quarterly or yearly. For example, if you submit returns monthly. The reporting period for January 2022 will no longer be available in the old portal.

What are the alternatives to the old entrepreneurial portal?
